You will work closely with our Project Managers and ensure that projects are thoroughly prepared, efficiently organised and executed in accordance with the agreed budget and schedule.

You will join a small, close-knit team where communication is direct and everyone takes responsibility. Your role is central to the project organisation: you connect plans, purchasing, subcontractors, execution and administration.

About Bouter Bouw

Bouter Bouw is a reliable, down-to-earth and committed construction company based in Leiden. We deliver a wide range of projects in retail, renovation, commercial and residential construction.

Our strengths are craftsmanship, clear communication and a team that stands together. We regularly work on outstanding stores in the premium retail sector and take pride in the quality we deliver. Our compact team has an informal atmosphere where everyone takes responsibility and successes are celebrated together.

What you will do

As a Work Planner at Bouter Bouw, you will organise the technical and practical preparation of our projects. You will make sure the right information, materials, people and subcontractors are available at the right time.

You will monitor planning, quality and costs and support the Project Manager throughout the project. You think ahead, identify risks and bottlenecks and take action before they affect the execution. In this way, you help the site team work efficiently and contribute directly to a successful result.

Your responsibilities

  • Prepare construction, renovation and retail projects for execution.
  • Review drawings, specifications, quotations and other project documents.
  • Identify missing information, technical risks and potential bottlenecks.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project and procurement schedules.
  • Request, assess and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Purchase materials and subcontracted work under the agreed conditions.
  • Ensure materials and information are available on site at the right time.
  • Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors and other project partners.
  • Monitor the cost-effective execution of projects.
  • Track budgets, commitments, forecasts and project costs.
  • Monitor planning, quality and personnel deployment, including subcontractors.
  • Prepare and record additional and reduced work.
  • Support the Project Manager with project administration and reporting.
  • Maintain contact with colleagues, clients, architects, consultants and suppliers.
  • Visit project locations when required to coordinate preparation and execution.
  • Contribute ideas for efficient, practical and technically sound solutions.

What you bring

We are looking for someone who enjoys creating order in a complex project environment. You work accurately, maintain oversight and communicate easily with both office colleagues and professionals on site. You are proactive and do not wait for a problem to resolve itself.

  • Relevant work experience in construction preparation, project coordination or a similar role.
  • A sound understanding of construction processes, materials and methods.
  • The ability to read and assess technical drawings.
  • Experience with purchasing, planning and cost control.
  • A structured, accurate and proactive way of working.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and an eye for both costs and quality.
  • The ability to manage several projects or priorities at the same time.
  • Confidence working independently as well as in a project team.
  • Familiarity with common planning, calculation and office software.
  • A category B driving licence.
  • Preferably based within 50 km of Leiden.
  • Experience in retail construction or renovation is an advantage.

What we offer

At Bouter Bouw, you will join a dependable and welcoming company where people support each other. You will play an important role in challenging projects and work closely with experienced colleagues in a practical, informal environment.

  • A competitive salary that reflects your knowledge and experience.
  • A company phone and laptop.
  • A year-end bonus.
  • 30 days of annual leave and a good pension scheme.
  • Challenging projects for leading retail and commercial clients.
  • A close-knit team with direct communication.
  • Regular team outings.
  • Plenty of responsibility and independence.
  • Room to contribute ideas and improve project processes.
  • Opportunities for professional development and further training.
