What you will do

As a Foreman at Bouter Bouw, you will manage the daily activities on the construction site. You translate the project plan into clear tasks, coordinate employees and subcontractors and monitor progress, quality and safety.

You are the first point of contact on site and work closely with the Project Manager and Work Planner. When circumstances change or technical challenges arise, you act quickly and find a practical solution without losing sight of the schedule or the required level of quality.

Your responsibilities

• Manage and supervise employees on the construction site.
• Distribute daily tasks and provide clear working instructions.
• Coordinate and plan the activities of subcontractors.
• Monitor the project schedule and adjust the daily planning when necessary.
• Ensure that drawings, instructions and agreements are followed correctly.
• Monitor workmanship, quality, order and safety on site.
• Identify and resolve technical and structural problems.
• Check deliveries, materials and completed work.
• Maintain clear communication with the Project Manager and Work Planner.
• Identify, record and report additional and reduced work.
• Keep track of project progress and relevant site administration.
• Represent Bouter Bouw professionally towards clients, consultants and other parties.
• Contribute to a constructive and motivated working atmosphere.

What you bring

We are looking for someone who leads by example. You are approachable, decisive and able to maintain oversight in a busy working environment. You communicate directly and respectfully and know how to motivate people to achieve a strong result together.

• Several years of relevant experience in construction, preferably as a Foreman or Working Supervisor.
• Strong practical and technical construction knowledge.
• The ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Experience managing employees and coordinating subcontractors.
• A structured and solution-oriented way of working.
• Clear communication and natural leadership skills.
• A strong sense of responsibility for quality, planning and safety.
• The ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
• A VCA-VOL certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
• A category B driving licence.
• Preferably based within 50 km of Leiden.
• Sufficient command of Dutch and/or English to lead work safely on site.
